#thoughtsandprayers is a sound-collage installation created from a collection of tweets that feature the words "thoughts", "prayers", or both - posted by politicians after a mass shooting occurrence in the United States. Upon request, friends, colleagues, family, students, and community members have recorded themselves reading a tweet from a politician to create this sound piece.
The recordings are then played from the bottom of a steel drum, usually associated with garbage, refuse, or a place for holding fire for temporary warmth, resulting in a steady stream of useless tweets from a black hole.
