Views from the Porch, 2008-2014

When I was located in the Southern Appalachians in the mountains of North Georgia, I began this series as a practice of repetition.  Views from the Porch is exactly what it is - a series of photos of the view off of my back porch.  Fortunate to have such a view, I spend a lot of time on the porch.  The porch is where a lot of thought, discussion and theorizing takes place.  Not ever considering myself as a landscape photographer, I began this series as a way to capture the ever changing weather patterns that are frequent in this part of the South.  Theses images represent a span of over 3 years of imagery (and counting) and have been taken with an array of cameras and mobile camera apps.
